Abstract

The rhetorical art, invented and cherished since Antiquity, is found nowadays both between the humanities and social sciences, as well as among the popular disciplines that rather fall within the scope of personal development and professional training, namely the art of public speaking. The principles of the classical rhetoric have been overwhelmingly preserved until today, which confirm its status of a prodigious science with a long career in the history of human education. As a systematized science, from ancient times has provided rules for the construction phases of a speech. One of these sequences is Elocutio: the stylistic crafting phase of the previously trained speech. This article brings forward several examples of exercises that help us understand the power of a word expressed in a developed form.
