Abstract

The article analyses the problem of the observance of the day of religious rest by Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) students enrolled in state universities. The context ofthe current analysis is, then, ethics and integrity within the academia from the standpoint of the SDA student doing degrees in a state university. The relative tolerance of religious minorities in Romania, as well as the national legislation provide a favorable context that virtually prevents any possible conflict between the student's conscience and academic requirements. However, sometimes the student has to make a conscientious decision when required to exceptionally attend classes or exams on his/her day of rest and worship, namely Saturday.
