Abstract

This article presents an Adventist perspective on the imputation of righteousness in Calvinistic federal theology. The first part examines God’s sovereignty, divine grace and righteousness, imputation of righteousness, and the effects of righteousness in federalism. The second part briefly overviews the biblical view of divine predestination, divine grace and righteousness, and the imputation of righteousness. The third part evaluates God’s grace, righteousness, justification, and effects of righteousness from an Adventist perspective. Finally, the article concludes that God’s love-centered characteristics allow human freedom of choice and restore the broken relationship externally (forensic) and internally (transformative) in the imputation of righteousness, known as justification.
