Abstract

The development of social networks has determined some changes in the behavior of users, especially those of Generation Z, who spend a lot of time online. Every connection brings benefits, but also some negative consequences for the younger generation. The impact of social networks is also visible in the educational process, in the interactions between students and teachers. The research methodology was based on interviews with 30 teachers. The main results indicate that, from the teachers' perspective, there are advantages for Generation Z using social networks, but also certain risks. The educational process can be improved by the new means of communication, but at the same time it promotes the superficiality and inattentiveness of the students. A balanced coverage and the maximum use of the advantages offered by social networks can contribute to the bio-psycho-social development of the representatives of Generation Z.
