Abstract

At the founding meeting of the Romanian Adventist Union, several decisions were made to establish institutions to promote the Adventist message in Romania. One key decision was to open a school for training missionaries and pastors, who previously had to go to Friedensau in Germany. This school opened in 1924 in Focșani in a newly purchased, spacious building and was open to both male and female students from the start. Due to the influx of students, the Bible Institute moved to Diciosânmartin in 1926 and then to BrașovStupini in 1931. Stupini marked a period of significant growth, offering a four-year Evangelism program, and two-year courses in Office-Accounting and Home Economics. The political climate in Romania, however, posed challenges. The government under Ion Antonescu confiscated the school from 1942 to 1944. After World War II, the Communist regime took control and closed the Adventist School in 1949.
