Transmission of Babylonian Traditions to Biblical Israel

The issue of origins in literature, or "who influenced whom", is one of the perennial topics in liberal debates of biblical scholarship. In contemporary approaches dealing with the Scripture, the question of literary influence represents sometimes the main focus of the scholar. This study, after assessing Kingsley’s article "Ezekiel on the Grand Canal: between Jewish and Babylonian Tradition", suggests some cautious steps to be followed in research done within the field of comparative literature.
